Chocolate Valley
[
Maddalena Delli]

A string of towns running through northern Tuscany from Prato to Pisa has become known under the nickname of Chocolate Valley. That's simply because - for some unfathomable reason - a surprising amount of master chocolatiers happen to have their workshops in this area.
Winning a hoard of international awards, they have unexpectedly established Tuscany as a world-leader in chocolate making. Mannori and Bettazzi in Prato, Catinari in Agliana, Corsini in Pistoia, Cioccolato & Co. in Massa Cozzile, Slitti in Monsummano Terme, Amedei in Pontedera, De Bondt and Salza in Pisa are all fine brands sold by selected confectioner's worldwide. Watch out for their names!
