There is a new way to move through the city, jumping quickly and agilely from bus to bus, feeling easy and fast and screaming like tarzan.Florence has never been this easy to travel thanks to the new ataf smart card CARTA AGILE.
Carta agile is the first italian disposable contact-less card employed in public transports. It holds a microchip filled with several 60 minutes tickets, available in a 10 Euro and a 20 Euro version providing a batch of rides for you and your friends.
The cool thing with Carta Agile is that you can stop fighting with the validation machine each time you have to punch your
ticket.
Imagine yourself entering the bus clean and perfumed, a traveller of noble breed, passing quickly a queue of muttering people and avoiding a very angry and very sweating japanese tourist contorting unnaturally around the validation machine and crying “Give me back my ticket, stupid old wreck!”.
Then you just place your card close to the indicated area and your ride is easily validated.
And if you ride with someone else you can use the same card, repeating the process for every member of your group since Carta Agile is impersonal and can be shared by more people.
The only problem is that Carta Agile attracts envy of the other travellers in the bus.
You can get Carta Agile in every newsstand and tabacconist that usually sell Atafa tickets; it doesn’t require any activation nor registration.
The 10.00 euro card contains 12 sixty minute tickets while the 20.00 version is equipped for 25 rides (the more you use it the more you save!)
Carta Agile: you purchase it, you use it and when it’s empty you can collect the everchanging artwork on the back of your card if you like.
