Delicious Med ideas on a traditional Tuscan menu can be found at the fashionable O!O Bar con Cucina in Piazza Piattellina 7r (tel. 055 212917) in the historic San Frediano quarter. Here Tuscan and Mediterranean influences are beautifully blended in an environment that offers design, music, art and 'organic art food', to become almost a religion. Only best ingredients are used and the result is absolutely wonderful! Lunches are served from midday to 3pm, aperitifs and dinner served until midnight. Just round the corner in Piazza del Carmine, n. 24, opposite the Brancacci Chapel, you can find Napo Leone (Tel. 055 281015), popular evening port of call for stylish Med dinners based on fresh fish and local meats as well as Pizzas to suit all tastes. Its original interior design likens it to Parisien cafč, so the atmosphere is guaranteed too!
Celestino in Piazza S. Felicita, 4r (Tel. 055.2396574) also serves mouthwatering traditional Mediterranean style menus and has anyway been a Florentine favourite for years.
Acqua al 2 in Via Vigna Vecchia 40r (Tel. 055.284170) is a cheery bistro where art, fashion and good food draw a mixed late-night crowd. Med food based on its famous pasta dishes served in platters and wide variety of salads all served in a creative style.
Lastly (this time round), Grotta di Leo in Via della Scala (Tel. 055.219265) is a home from home for many as it serves exquisite Med foods and pizzas all day from 11am to 1am.
